Hair Transplant Procedure

Hair transplant is a surgical procedure that involves moving hair follicles from the donor area of the scalp (typically the back or sides of the head) to areas with thinning or balding hair. Here is a general overview of the procedure:

  1. Consultation: The first step is to schedule a consultation with a qualified hair transplant surgeon. During this consultation, you can discuss your expectations, examine your scalp, and determine if you are a suitable candidate for the procedure. The surgeon will assess the quality and quantity of your donor hair, as well as your overall health. The overseas customers have to share 6 photos of the scalp before the consultation. At this stage the surgeon will decide how many grafts could be extracted from the donor area and will inform you if it will cover the full bald area or not.

  2. Preoperative preparation: If you decide to proceed with the hair transplant, the surgeon will provide instructions on how to prepare for the procedure. This may involve avoiding certain medications, alcohol, and smoking in the days leading up to the surgery.

  3. Anesthesia: On the day of the procedure, local anesthesia will be administered to numb the scalp. You may also be given a sedative to help you relax during the surgery.

  4. Donor hair removal: The surgeon will identify a donor area, typically the back or sides of the head, where the hair is genetically resistant to balding. The individual hair follicles will be extracted using a technique called follicular unit extraction (FUE) or Direct Hair Implant (DHI).

  5. Graft preparation: The individual hair follicles are then carefully dissected under a microscope to obtain individual grafts. These grafts typically contain one to four hairs each, depending on the desired outcome.

  6. Recipient site creation: The surgeon will create tiny incisions or recipient sites in the areas of the scalp where the hair will be transplanted. The size, angle, and direction of the incisions are crucial to achieving a natural-looking result.

  7. Graft placement: The grafts are meticulously placed into the recipient sites created by the surgeon. The surgeon may vary the placement to achieve a natural hairline and ensure optimal density in different areas.

  8. The whole procedure could last anywhere between 6 to 8 hours.

  9. Postoperative care: After the procedure is complete, the surgeon will provide instructions for postoperative care. This may include medication to prevent infection, pain management, and guidelines for washing and caring for the transplanted area and how to sleep.

  10. Recovery: The initial recovery period typically involves some discomfort, swelling, and scabbing. It is important to follow the postoperative instructions provided by the surgeon to ensure proper healing and maximize the success of the transplant.

  11. Hair growth: The transplanted hair follicles will initially shed within a two & three months of the procedure. However, new hair growth should begin within a few months. The hair will continue to thicken and mature over the following months, and you can expect to see significant improvement within 6 to 12 months.

  12. If you have the procedure in Turkiye coming from overseas you need to stay for a minimum of 3 nights in Turkiye.

It's important to note that the specifics of the procedure can vary depending on the technique used by the surgeon, such as FUE or DHI. It is recommended to consult with a qualified hair transplant surgeon to discuss your specific case and determine the most suitable approach for you.
